Skip Elefante, CEO

Skip Elefante began his real estate career in the early 1980's as a broker for single and multifamily homes. In 1984, Skip entered the self-storage industry in order to spend more time with his family and to concentrate on commercial properties and high net worth clients. Skip quickly made a name for himself in the self storage business by catering to the growing demand for high-quality self storage property operators and through joint ventures and partnerships with industry leaders such as Public Storage, Storage USA, Shurguard, Extra Space, and U-Haul. By 1997, Skip had become one of the top storage brokers in the nation, having closed over $1 billion in storage transactions. His business services had expanded from brokering to offer acquisition, development, property management, consulting, and receivership services as well.

As CEO of Platinum Storage, Skip currently manages over $250 million of self-storage assets and invests in his personal real estate portfolio through developments and acquisitions. Skip's ability to identify unique self-storage opportunities that provide strong returns has given him an excellent reputation in the industry and has enabled his company to expand nationwide. Driven by market changes in the last few years, Skip actively engages institutional investors and private equity partners to form joint ventures for the purchase of self storage facilities. During the same period, Skip launched the Storage Direct brand to take advantage of economies of scale and to ensure that every facility meets the highest standards of service and quality.

Johnna Grant, CFO

Johnna Grant is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for strategic planning, cash management and all financial accounting, for our portfolio of 40+ properties. Her background includes over 25 years of experience in financial operations and management within the real estate sector.

Prior to joining Platinum, Johnna was the CFO at Thompson National Properties where she provided both strategic guidance and financial expertise to manage rapid growth from $20 million to $2.4 billion in assets under management. She was responsible for the acquisition of three companies including the integration of financial accounting data and the addition of new employees. She also oversaw the compliance of 10 commercial real estate investment programs with aggregate commitments in excess of $200 million.

Previous to her position at Thompson National Properties, Johnna was senior vice president and controller at IHP Capital Partners for ten years, where she managed the accounting department and compliance for five Investor Limited Partnerships, with aggregate commitments in excess of $1.4 billion. Howard earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting from the University of San Diego and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Genevieve Sigmund, President

As President, Genevieve Sigmund builds relationships
with equity partners, identifies potential acquisition opportunities, forges alliances with key trade and industry groups and oversees investor relations for Platinum Storage Group. Additionally, she works closely with other key members of the executive team to manage the company’s financial and banking relationships, human resources and the integration of properties into the company’s growing nationwide portfolio.

Prior to joining Platinum, Ms. Sigmund worked in the political arena as a consultant on high
profile campaigns at the national, state and local level. Ms. Sigmund earned a bachelor’s
degree from the University of Southern California.

Jenelle Elefante, VP Property Services

Jenelle began her career working in administrations at Chapman College in Orange, CA. During her time there, Jenelle focused on taking classes in business and finance until leaving in 2004 to join Platinum's team. After a short time as an account manager, she quickly began to expand her knowledge of the self storage business by participating in every part of the company. Realizing that her true passion lied in overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of Platinum's assets, Jenelle expanded her knowledge in maintenance, repairs, capital improvements, and budgeting. In her position as Director of Asset Maintenance, Jenelle plays a crucial role in minimizing expenses associated with the day-to-day maintenance and recognizing opportunities to make improvements to increase and protect the underlying value of Platinum's properties. Jenelle believes strongly that honesty, integrity and hard work are the sound building blocks of a strong organization and works hard to ensure these values are exemplified in her work every day.

Dane Elefante, VP Operations & Marketing

Dane Elefante began his career at Platinum Storage Group at the end of 2007. Graduating with a B.A in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Development and Finance from the USC Marshall School of Business, Dane has utilized his education and adapted his talents to fill an integral role at Platinum. Dane focuses mainly on operations and marketing, but also works closely on developing business strategy for the company. He continues to use his abilities to automate and integrate new technologies within Platinum's operating structure, creating efficiencies throughout the company. Dane is a strong team player, and supports every division of the company, working with staff to identify inefficiencies and develop new policies for continued business growth. Today, Dane has continued to expand his role in the company, using his unique skills in strategic operations to support the acquisition team.

Elizabeth Garcia, Director Human Resources

Elizabeth Garcia is the Director of Human Resources at Platinum Storage; overseeing all recruiting, payroll, safety, benefits administration and employee relations for over 270 employees at Platinum. During her tenure at Platinum Storage, Elizabeth has been involved with developing companywide policies and procedures, overseeing employee retention and acquisitions, managing a comprehensive health insurance program and insuring that Platinum is in compliance with employments laws in over 16 states. In the last year, when Platinum took over the management of over 60 new facilities, Elizabeth utilized her diverse skills to ensure the smooth transition of over 120 employees to Platinum's team.

Prior to her time at Platinum Storage, Elizabeth worked as a human resources intern at an aerospace manufacturing company near Seattle, Washington. It didn't take long for her to realize that HR was the perfect match for her personality and long term career goals. The aerospace company hired her full time following the internship and in January 2002, she transferred to their Orange, California manufacturing facility to manage their human resources department. Elizabeth earned a bachelor's degree in Administrative Office Management from Central Washington University and continues to expand her knowledge by attending continued Human Resources educational courses.
